The European Begg Society of Orthodontics (EBSO) will organize its 50 Years Congress from 18 to 19 May 2017 in Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. Theme of the EBSO Congress is ‘Clinical Highlights’.
Fifty years ago, in 1967, the EBSO was founded in Amsterdam. The society was named after the famous Australian orthodontist P. Raymond Begg, who developed his well-known fixed appliance technique. At that time the technique was used by many orthodontic clinicians worldwide. Nowadays, the EBSO focuses on modern orthodontic techniques and scientific evidence. Ten top speakers will present the latest advancements in practical orthodontics. The special attractiveness of these biennial congresses is its clinical character, a relaxed atmosphere, and sufficient time for presentations and discussions.
The 50th anniversary EBSO Congress in 2017 will take place in the ‘Heineken Experience’, the historic first built Heineken brewery, that has been transformed to a popular tourist attraction and congress location.
The Heineken Experience is located in the heart of Amsterdam, close to the Museum Square with the world famous Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk Museum. Numerous other well-known museums like the Anne Frank House, Hermitage Amsterdam, and Rembrandt House Museum are also within walking distance. Near the Heineken Experience many terraces, cafés, and restaurants are located at the Marie Heinekenplein.
Known as the ‘Venice of the North’ for its 165 canals, the city's most famous sight is its well-preserved and appealing 17th-century architecture. By foot, bike, and boat you can enjoy the winding canals, idyllic bridges and historic buildings. Amsterdam offers an extreme variety of all kinds of shops, ranging from large high-end department stores to small specialty shops. From the colorful open-air markets of Amsterdam to the red light district, there’s something exciting and unique to discover.
Amsterdam is packed full of fun, crazy, exciting and fascinating attractions and is one of the best nightlife cities in the world. The city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. You’d better book a day or two extra!
We have organized an interesting and entertaining social and partner programme. The presidential reception and congress dinners will take place in exclusive locations.
